School of the Osage High School host ceremony for veterans

School of the Osage honored those who served the United States with special ceremonies for Veteran’s Day at each building on Friday. More than 70 veterans from the community and their families attended a ceremony held in the high school’s gymnasium. Student body president Kelsey Abbott served as the facilitator for the event. The program included a presentation of the colors by the Civil Air Patrol’s color guard, guest speakers and a special recognition for veterans. Attendees were also treated to musical performances by students of the OHS Concert Chorale, Les Chanteurs, Girls Glee and the band. Also during the ceremony, the National Honor Society and Key Club presented Ray Bassett, American Legion Zack Wheat Post No. 624 chaplain, a donation for the World War II Veteran’s Honor Flight program.
