Osage Beach Elementary presents "Once Upon a Time' to help meet reading goals

January 23rd, 2013 in News
A recent visit from Evil Queen Slack, also known as Principal Renee Slack, may be just enough to drive the students at Osage Beach Elementary to exceed their goal of reading 380,000 minutes this year.

"Once upon a time" is the beginning of most fairytales and it is the exciting theme to motivate Osage Beach Elementary students to reach their reading goal this year.

A visit from Evil Queen Slack, also known as Principal Renee Slack, may be just enough to drive the students at OBE to exceed their goal of reading 380,000 minutes this year.

"Once Upon a Time" is the building theme allowing special visits from fairytale characters such as "Snow Whitney and her Dwarfs," who are thrilled about reading and announce the quarterly totals during a lively skit that is written and performed by the enthusiastic staff, to a gym packed with eager students.

When these inspired students meet their goal, and it seems very likely, Evil Queen Slack, (who has been cheating all year with her magic mirror) will have to "allow" a huge celebration in honor of reading. The students will get to do something silly to her. Last year they got to "feather" her.

In a fairytale land, who knows what reaching that 380,000 minute goal might bring upon Evil Queen Slack! These OBE students are bound "to live happily ever after!"
