Some of the educational opportunities youth will experience are a multi county youth leadership retreat that includes high ropes course at Windermere, county bus tour with Leadership Camden County participants, personality profile, community services amazing race, citizenship public issues forum and other leadership training.

Participants will also receive "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens," book as well as a class t-shirt. This is the eleventh year for the program with more than 125 student alumni.

"Youth EXCEL has meant a lot to me as a way to go beyond normal education. It encourages me to know that my teachers feel I stand out," another participant explained.

Youth EXCEL class eleven graduated Dec. 12. The final session was a Public Issues Forum that allowed participants to discuss three options for the topic of engaging youth in citizenship in their communities. For 4-H program information contact 573-346-2644 or visit
