One person is in custody and another is being sought in connection with a burglary and pursuit with authorities in Morgan County, Wednesday.
Information from the Morgan County Sheriff's Department shows deputies were dispatched to a burglary in progress in the Timberlake Village Estates area in Rocky Mount.
As deputies were responding the suspects left the scene in a dark blue minivan with a loud muffler.
The first deputy near the scene picked up the vehicle and attempted to stop it on Red Arrow Road in Rocky Mount.
The vehicle then refused to stop and a pursuit began.
Two other Morgan County deputies went to attempt to block the vehicle in, but it got to Route W in Miller County before deputies could block the road.
The pursuit then went to Route Z in Miller County and the chase went out of the Rocky Mount area and over toward Eldon.
The pursuit then turned onto Missouri 52 in Eldon and onto U.S. 54 east toward Jefferson City.
Shortly after getting onto 54, one suspect jumped from the vehicle and was taken into custody.
The driver of the vehicle kept fleeing east toward Jefferson City on 54.
The vehicle attempted to turn onto Atchison Road in Miller County from 54 when the driver made a sudden stop.
A Morgan County deputy made contact with the vehicle pushing it off the roadway onto the shoulder of the road.
The driver then jumped onto the hood of the deputies patrol car and fled off into the woods and deputies gave chase.
They lost the subject in the woods and called for air support from the Missouri Highway Patrol and for a K-9 officer from the surrounding areas.
The helicopter flew over the area, but was unable to locate the suspect.
The K-9 officers from Osage Beach and Cole County responded and both were unable to locate the subject due to heavy officer foot traffic.
The subject that jumped from the vehicle is at the Morgan County Jail and authorities are awaiting the filing of formal charges from the prosecutor's office before releasing his name.
The Investigation of the burglary is continuing.
