Boy Scout Troop 21 was honored at the Senior Activity Center's Spaghetti Dinner Saturday, Feb. 9, one day after the anniversary of the founding of the scouts.

At the Senior Activity Center, Connor Mangels developed a beautiful butterfly garden and Kyle Cook repaired, improved, and repainted the outside ramp to the second floor. One of the earlier Eagle Scouts, Aaron McKeever, erected the flag pole and flag for Lake Presbyterian Church. The troop also takes the proper care of their flags and performs flag ceremonies.

Mayor Franzeskos and the Senior Activity Board thanked the scouts for their efforts. Then, the young men led in the Pledge of Alliance and the singing of "God Bless America."

"In a time when so much bad is all we seem to hear and see, along comes this troop," said Laura Edwards, Senior Activity Center representative. "We, the citizens of the Lake area, celebrate all the good these young people do - and appreciate the parents and schools that give them the support they need to meet their goals."

Troop 21 of Lake Ozark has produced nearly a dozen Eagle Scouts. Their latest endeavor was helping Garrett Lynch's Eagle project - the majestic flag pole at the Lake of the Ozarks Sign. The troop's other Eagle Scouts are Bradley Skelton, Justin Deskin, Ty Stith, Christian Williams and Alex Mitchell.
