The Miss Lake of the Ozarks scholarship program seeks contestants for its upcoming pageant at 7 p.m. Oct. 26 at School of the Osage High School’s Cummings Auditorium in Lake Ozark.
The Miss Lake of the Ozarks Scholarship program is one of approximately 30 local preliminary pageants in the Miss Missouri system. This pageant is an official preliminary to Miss Missouri and Miss America. The Miss Lake of the Ozarks and Miss Lake of the Ozarks Outstanding Teen titles are “open” programs in which any eligible contestant from within the state of Missouri can compete.
Contestants will compete in talent, interview, evening wear, swim wear (fitness wear for teens), and on-stage-question. Miss contestants must be between the ages of 17-24, must be a high school senior or graduate, and reside in or enrolled and attending an accredited college or university in Missouri. Teen contestants must be at least 13 years of age by Oct. 26, 2013, no older than 18 years of age as of July 31, 2014 and no more than a junior in high school.
The Miss Lake of the Ozarks areas of competition are as follows: talent (35 percent); interview (25 percent); evening wear (20 percent); swimsuit (15 percent); and on-stage questions (5 percent). Miss Lake of the Ozarks Outstanding Teen areas of competition are as follows: talent (35 percent); interview (25 percent); evening wear and on-stage questions (25 percent); and lifestyle and fitness (15 percent).
Miss Lake of the Ozarks scholarship and awards are $500 to $1,000 scholarship, official crown and sash, flowers, preparation for and trip to Mis Missouri 2014, plus other prizes. Miss Lake of the Ozarks Outstanding Teen scholarship and awards include piad entry fee to state competition, official crown and sash, flowers, preparation for and trip to Miss Missouri Oustanding Teen 2014, as well as other prizes.
Rehearsal date is held from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25. Entry deadline for both pageants is Oct. 14.
