The Camdenton Lakers hit the courts the day after Christmas to participate in the 67th Blue and Gold Holiday Basketball Tournament at Missouri State's John Q. Hammonds Arena in Springfield.
In the opening round, the unseeded Lakers fell 51-61 to No. 7 seed Ozark in the opening round despite a strong offensive showing.
John Hyde led the Lakers with 22 points against the Tigers, highlighted by an 11-point third quarter run.
Zach Brown added 13 to the total. Kullen Carlock chipped in for nine points, Jake Decker had seven, and Ryan Elliott finished with five.
The loss sent the Lakers to the lower bracket where they took out rival Lebanon in round two of the tournament by a score of 56-42.
The Lakers once again put up an impressive offensive showing with four players putting up double digits. Kullen Carlock led with 16, John Hyde had 12, and Zach Brown and Jake Decker each added 11.
Camdenton moved on to the Blue Division Consolation semifinals to take on Fair Grove for a 51-40 victory on their way to claim the trophy.
Kullen Carlock led the Lakers scoring once again with a solid 19 points. Ryan Elliott and Zach Brown both added eight points while Jake Decker added six. John Hyde and Michael Hake finished with four apiece and Jordan Knight rounded it out with two points.
The Lakers marched on to the final round on Saturday, claiming the trophy with a 33-22 victory over Morrisville.
Carlock led again with 18 points for the Lakers.
The Lakers will resume their regular season schedule on Friday when they host the Parkview Vikings. The junior varsity team will tipoff at 6 p.m., and varsity will follow. The freshman team will travel to Jefferson City on Thursday and Ozark on Friday.
