Versailles Area Chamber of Commerce presents logo/design contest for 2013 Old Tyme Apple Festival

The Versailles Area Chamber of Commerce is conducting its annual Logo/Design Contest for the 2013 Apple Festival scheduled on Oct. 5. The theme of this year’s festival is “A Taste of the Country.”

The first contest is the “Best logo (drawing) and slogan (wording) contest. Logo and/or drawings submitted should contain no more than five colors. The deadline for the entry is March 1. Information to be included on the logo are: date of the event (Oct. 5); the words “Versailles Olde Tyme Apple Festival, Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013”; and your “A Taste of the Country” theme idea.

Entries can be emailed to vchamber@sbcglobal.net or mailed to the Versailles Area Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 256, Versailles, Mo. 65084. The first place winner receives $100. The winning LOGO/design will appear on 10,000 Olde Tyme Apple Festival booklets given out all over the State of Missouri , and appear on the 400 T-shirts sold at the Chamber office. The winner of the LOGO/design contest will receive recognition in the 2013 Olde Tyme Apple Festival booklet, in media advertising, and on stage during Olde Tyme Apple Festival, Saturday, October 5, 2013.The winner will be selected by the Board of Directors of the Versailles Area Chamber of Commerce at their March 18 meeting and announce the winner before April 1.

Last year, the Chamber had more than 20 entries for the logo contest. School age children are also encouraged to participate. To view past winning logos, visit the Chamber office any Wednesday thru Friday 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The Chamber has Olde Tyme Apple Festival T-shirts as far back as 2003 to view logo winning entries.
