In the Jan. 23 issue of The Lake Today, its staff presented its second annual “A Look Through Time” special section.
Featuring historic anecdotes, a timeline of significant Lake Area events and opening years of local businesses, this section also featured a trivia contest. Readers picked out the answers to five questions that related to the main story, and Kaiser resident Jeff Schneider submitted all correct answers and won the drawing for the grand prize.
Schneider won a Pulsar Watch from section sponsor J’Rae Jewelry in Versailles.
“"I've never won anything before, not even on a scratchers ticket, so this is a huge surprise! And perfect timing, my wife will love having a new watch for Valentine’s Day," Schneider said.
The correct answers to the “A Look Through Time” Trivia Contest were as follows:
Q: About how tall were the “green space penguins?”
A: 3 feet tall
Q: How many rocks did farmer Claude Edwards throw at the UFO?
A: Three rocks
Q: Where did the helicopter crash at the Lake?
A: Below Bagnell Dam
Q: On what attraction did the boat run aground?
A: On a golf course
Q: What date was the City of Laurie incorporated?
A: June 13, 1966
Thanks to all readers who submitted in entries and thank you for reading The Lake Today’s “A Look Through Time” annual section.
