Children and their parents are invited to attend the annual Christmas on the Square on Saturday, Dec. 1 on the courthouse quadrant of the square in downtown Camdenton.
Sponsored by the Camdenton Chamber of Commerce, Christmas on the square activities will begin at 11 a.m. with games, ornament making, chocolate snowmen, prize drawings, craft tables, music, inflatable fire truck bounce house, petting zoo, hot dogs, hot chocolate, cookies, nativity scene, turkey and prize drawings, and more. Activities will last until 2:30 p.m. and Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will also arrive in style at 12:30 p.m. and stay to visit children and families attending this free event, which is open to the public and welcomes all visitors.
The Camdenton Chamber Christmas Committee also invites churches, businesses and organization to collect canned goods and dry food to help fill the shelves at the Lamb House Food Pantry to help those in need as part of the Ninth Annual “Can Do Challenge.” Those collecting the most canned goods in each category by Dec. 1 will receive a fun traveling trophy to display all year long. Those participating in the challenge are encouraged to drop off their canned goods throughout the fall at LAMB House on Illinois Street in Camdenton with the final turn in on the Square during Christmas on the Square.
