Rowdy Run to benefit three charitable organizations

A new adventure foot race will take place at Lake of the Ozarks March 29-30, 2013 called the Osage River Bottom Rowdy Run to support local charities.

On March 29th & 30th, 2013, extreme athletes, thrill seekers and party animals from across the Midwest will attempt to conquer the river-bottom MX park, Army Ranger, NFL all-pro and extreme off-road racer designed five-mile obstacle course. This ”Rowdy” footrace will combine a series of natural and made-made impediments including mud pits, sheer bluffs, wooded trails, the Osage River bottom itself and more. This will be a test of endurance, willpower and intestinal fortitude.

Held at River Bottom MX, an off-road course in Kaiser Missouri just minutes from the Lake of the Ozarks, this naturally beautiful location will offer concessions, camping, pre and post race parties as well as a mini mud run Friday, March 29 for tuff kids 12 and under. On Saturday, March 30, the big five-mile “Rowdy Run” adventure obstacle race will take place. Teams are encouraged and business sponsorships available.

“We have the perfect location for a race like this,” said Greg Surdyke, owner of Surdyke Yamaha and River Bottom MX Park. “It’s just the right mix of terrain to be challenging but accessible. These types of competitions attract everyone from extreme athletes to soccer moms to weekend warriors and we intend to have a little something for all.”

“It will be a giant party you won’t want to miss,” added event organizer Jill Snodgrass, Daily Plan-it. “People will want to come and camp, enjoy great live music, bonfires and bar-b-que and the opportunity to socialize with people who have a love of the outdoors.”

Local businesses and associations for local development feel that Easter Weekend is a great time to bring the family to enjoy the arrival of spring in the Ozarks. The hotels and Inns will welcome participants and restaurants will offer great Easter Brunch buffets for your dining pleasure. Area churches will host Easter Sunday services.

Registration will be offered at www.riverbottommx.com and starts at $65 per competitor and $25 for youth. Register by Jan. 30 for lowest prices. Track athletes in Junior and Senior High School may not participate due to MSHSAA rules.

Spectator and party/concert tickets will also be available at a later date. A percentage of proceeds will be divided between local charities Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Off-Road Riders Matter.

Crybaby Campground is situated on a family owned and operated 300-acre farm surrounded by the beautiful Osage River and conveniently located only 5.5 miles down D road behind the Prewitt Point Shopping Center in Osage Beach.
