Last chance to register for Sunrise Bible Church 2012-13 Upward sports programs

The Sunrise Bible Church, SBC, in Sunrise Beach is sponsoring the 2012-13 Upward Sports Basketball and Cheerleading Program for girls and boys grades kindergarten through sixth.

According to SBC Pastor Nick Stutesman, the Upwards Basketball and Cheerleading program provides a positive sports experience for every child through a friendly sports environment where children have fun and trained coaches and referees encourage children by sharing life lessons at every practice.

The basketball program teaches the fundamentals of basketball, and has a unique drafting system that creates balanced teams, and applies a unique substitution system procedure giving equal playing time to all team members.

The cheerleading program teaches cheerleading fundamentals, provides cheers, chants and pom-pom routines, and encourages player and crowd excitement on game day.

The program makes the most of a family’s time and money by providing a quality game-day uniform, other sport-specific gear, and multiple recognition awards. There are one-hour practices and one-hour games. The cost per child for basketball is $70. The cost per child for cheerleading is $73.

The registration deadline is Friday, Nov. 30. Practices begin Thursday, Jan. 3 in the Lake West Christian Academy gym on Highway 5 in Sunrise Beach. The first game is scheduled Saturday, Jan. 12. Everyone must attend one basketball evaluation or cheerleading orientation. K-5 through second grade boys/girls evaluation/orientation is 3 to 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26. The third through sixth grade boys/girls evaluation/orientation is Tuesday, Nov. 27.
