Eldon and Osage have announced their fall football schedules for this upcoming season and they look a little different than in the past few years.
Due to changes in the MSHSAA playoff format for football, the regular season scheduling is only for nine games. The week 10 game will be the first round of the playoffs and all teams in the school’s district will be in action.
District assignments and classifications have not yet been released for the 2012 fall season yet, but are expected to be available in April.
Conference games will be played within the first nine games. Next fall will mark the first season with the new Tri County Conference lineup that includes Hallsville and Southern Boone County. They will join the existing schools of Eldon, Osage, Blair Oaks, Warsaw, California and Versailles. The expansion will leave only two non-conference matchups available during regular season play.
Eldon will attend a jamboree to be determined on Aug. 17 with their season opener scheduled for Aug. 24 at home against Miller Career Academy. They are on the road for the next three games; Aug. 31 at Buffalo, Sept. 7 at California, and Sept. 14 at Warsaw. On Sept. 21 they will host Versailles for their Homecoming game, then travel to Osage on Sept. 28. They host Hallsville on Oct. 5, travel to Southern Boone on Oct. 12 and are back home on Oct. 26 to face Blair Oaks.
Osage will host a Jamboree on Aug. 17 and will host their season opener against Fulton on Aug. 24. The Indians will be on the road on Aug. 31 taking on Moberly, then back home on Sept. 7 hosting Southern Boone. On Sept. 14 they will host Versailles for homecoming, then travel to Blair Oaks on Sept. 21. On 9 Sept. 28, Eldon comes to town and the next two games are on the road – Oct. 5 at California and Oct. 12 at Hallsville. The regular season will finish at home on Oct. 19 as they host Warsaw. District play will begin on Oct. 26, with the schedule and location to be announced.
