The Osage wrestling team won a three-way match with Fatima and Tipton on Thursday, Jan. 19 taking a 60-24 lead over Fatima and 54-30 over Tipton.
Against Fatima, Brad Russell (126 pounds) pinned Matt Stiefermann just 51 seconds into the first period. Greg Crosby (138) pinned Zach Aughtman 40 seconds into the match for a win. Kyle Christenson (160), Dario Overly (182) and Aidan Williams (220) all won their matches by pin. Zach Curran, Chris Johnson, Marc Miller, Mason Beckum and Levi Cadwallader all won by forfeit. A pin or forfeit is worth six points in scoring.
In the Tipton match, Trevor Koncevic (120), Dalton Mundy (126), Greg Crosby (138), Marc Miller (152), all won by pin. Curran, Johnson Brad Russell, AJ Huston, and Christenson all recievied a win by forfeit.
Earlier in the week, the team faced a makeup match against Versailles were just edged out by a score of 39-33.
Curran won by decision over Nathan Long for three points and Chris Johnson won by technical fall over Kaden Wilson for five points. Brad Russell pinned Zach Parsons as did Kyle Christenson (over Sam McGowan). Dario Overly and Aidan Williams won by decision over their opponents and Kaleb McDowell (220) pinned West Sidebottom for six points. The forfeit to Wes Davidson of Versailles was the six point decider in this close match.
The team will travel to Buffalo on Saturday and then to Bolivar on Jan. 31.

The Osage Wrestling Club is in its sixth year. It was chartered by Dennis Henley and Randy Satterlee and is for boys and girls ages 5-14. This year there are 46 members and 10 volunteer coaches in the program.
The club recently participated in the Blair Oaks and Helias Tri-Cap tournaments with more than 500 other youth wrestlers.They plan to participate in six tournaments during the course of the 2012 season. The kids wrestle in age divisions designated as 6U (under 6), 8U, 12U, and 14U. The results of the Blair Oaks and Helias tournaments are as follows:

Coaches for the 2012 season are Tim Carlson, Brady Douglas, Vinny Loyd, Katie Crosby, Patrick Dulle, David Sallee, Charles Munday, Randy Gardner Jr., Randy Gardner Sr., and Cliff Simmons. The club president is Andrea Satterlee and the group is registered with both the USA and Missouri Youth Wrestling Association.
