Osage announces Courtwarming candidates

Festivities at School of the Osage High School will begin next week as students prepare to host Courtwarming against the Versailles Tigers Friday, Feb. 3 starting at 5:30 p.m.

The theme for this year’s celebration is “Break me off a piece of that kit-ty kat bar.”

Spirit Week runs Monday through Friday, Feb. 3, which involves dress-up participation during the school day with each day of the week having a different theme for students and staff to follow. Students who dress up will earn spirit points for their class.

Monday will be “Black out the Tigers Day,” dress up in as much black clothing and accessories as possible. Tuesday, “Outwit the Tigers Day,” wear at least three items showing how smart you are. Wednesday, “Out Cap the Tigers Day,” bring a dollar (or more) to donate to the Caps for Kids charity to wear your hat all day long. Thursday, “Out Dress the Tigers Day,” students must have at least 50 percent of their outfit showing them dressed according to the following salad dressing: Freshmen-Ranch (dress like a cowboy/cowgirl); sophomores-Bleu Cheese (dress in all blue); juniors-House (dress in sweat and slippers-things you wear around the house); seniors-Thousand Island (dress in Hawaiian or other tropical clothing). Friday, “Out Spirit the Tigers Day,” wear maroon and white.

An all-school pep assembly will be held Friday, Feb. 3 during school and the Courtwarming Dance will be from 9:30-11 p.m.

‘Court Royalty’

Osage High School announced its 2012 Courtwarming court candidates and representatives. These students were selected by their peers as contributing the most to their school and honored to be the models of each class.

Junior representatives are Brittany Witt and Tristen Bates. Sophomore representatives are Daisy Ralston and Benjamin Naudet, and freshmen representatives are Megan Atkin and Collin Samuelson.

The Lil’ Mr. and Lil’ Miss first-grade representatives from Leland O. Mills Elementary are Quentin Hermann and Morgan Bartlett.

Four boy and four girl candidates were chosen and king and queen will be announced during the Courtwarming games.

The queen candidates are Tara Allman, daughter of Larry and Marla Allman; Taylor Marsh, daughter of Tom and Heather Marsh; Destiny McMurray, daughter of Heather Heiser and Michael McMurray; and Jade Reinhart, daughter of Stacie Reinhart.

The king candidates are Alex Berger, son of Matt and Carolyn Berger; Shane Calk, son of Norman and Zinnia Calk; Brandon Vann, son of Chad and Angela Vann; Christian Williams, son of Chully and Louise Williams.

The Lil’ Mr. and Lil’ Miss first-grade representatives from Leland O. Mills Elementary are Quentin Hermann, son of Steven and Lauren Hermann, and Morgan Bartlett, daughter of Todd and Rita Bartlett.

Be sure to watch the Indians face the Tigers at Courtwarming on Friday, Feb. 3 with the coronation of the king and queen between the junior-varsity and varsity basketball games at approximately 7:30 p.m.
