Osage teacher Jill Esely Durnin was honored by being inducted into the William Jewell College Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame on September 29 at a ceremony held during their homecoming festivities.
A 2002 graduate from Jewell, Durnin is the college’s career leader in points scored with 2163. She also holds the school record for highest scoring average in a single season at 20.6 and with 250 assists, holds the number eight spot on the top 10 list of all-time William Jewell players.
She was a two-time NAIA II All-American for the 2000-01 and 2001-02 seasons.
Durnin teaches Business at Osage. She and her husband, OHS Assistant Principal Brice Durnin have three sons – Kaden, Kamden and Karson. Durnin is currently an Assistant Coach in the girls basketball program.
