Helping kids in Ivy Bend have a good Christmas

The Ivy Bend Food Pantry has scheduled a Christmas Party for 123 kids ranging from birth to 18 on Saturday, Dec. 15 at the pantry in Ivy Bend. The goal is to help the kids have a good Christmas by giving them Christmas presents and all the fixings for a Christmas breakfast and dinner for their family. Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be on hand for pictures with the children. There will also be a drawing to win one boys and one girls bicycle.

Persons wishing to donate unwrapped toys or Christmas breakfast and/or dinner items may drop them off at the following locations: State Farm Insurance on Highway 5 in Laurie; Laurie Save A Lot; The Laurie Sonic, a free fountain drink will be given for a food or toy donation; The Auto and Boat Center II in Versailles; Laurie G2M Supermarket; Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church in Laurie; and Porter’s Lumber in Laurie.

The Auto and Boat Center in Versailles has pledged to give $100 worth of food for every car or boat sold through Friday, Dec. 14. The Ivy Bend Food Pantry food delivery truck will be parked at the center located at the corner of Highway 5 and North Monroe Street through Monday, Dec. 10 to receive toy and food donations.
