“Voices From the Edge: Advent Encounters Preparing the Way” will be the sermon series for Advent Services at Christ the King Lutheran Church of Lake Ozark. Services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5, and 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12. The Children’s Christmas Program will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19. These services will be preceded by soup suppers at 5:15 p.m.
The sermon series theme of Advent encounters will be used as a way of preparing for the celebration of Christmas and will feature biblical encounters of the Apostle John, John the Baptizer, the Prophet Zephaniah, the Apostle Paul and on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, the Voice of an Angel and a Sign of Great Joy.
The King’s Academy will hold its Christmas Program, “Happy Birthday Jesus” on Monday, Dec. 17, and will feature a live nativity scene and hand bells. The Sunday School Program Dec. 19 will be a Christmas Cantata performed by the Youth and Adult Choir. The choirs will be accompanied by a brass ensemble and hand bells.
The Christmas Eve Candlelight Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 24. Christmas Day Service will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 25. Rev. Ronald Lehenbauer is pastor and The Rev. Kristopher Morris is associate pastor at Christ the King. The Church is located at 1700 Bagnell Dam Blvd. in Lake Ozark.
