Group observes Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month

Missouri participates in a nationwide tradition of observing April as Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month.

Kids’ Harbor and other Child Advocacy Centers and service organizations through out Missouri come together to share ideas and to partner on this statewide observance.

Kids’ Harbor 2011 Pinwheels for Prevention Campaign will kick off Monday. All residents in the Lake Area community are encouraged to display a blue Pinwheel for Prevention in their front windows to show the community their support of Child Abuse Prevention Month. Pinwheels can be purchased for $10 from any Kids’ Harbor board member, by calling 573-348-6886 or 573-336-8634, or by e-mailing cara@kharbor.org.

April 15 is Go Blue Day. The group has designed navy Tshirts with the Kids’ Harbor logo on the front and the saying “Child Abuse casts a shadow the length of a lifetime” on the back.

T-shirts are $12 each or $13 for XXL and 3XL.

To order, call 573-348-6886 or e-mail Janalee@kharbor.org. Shirts will be in April 1.
