The Camdenton Lakers hit the road on Monday to compete with more than a dozen other schools for bragging rights to this year’s Columbia Classic golf tournament on the Gustin Course.
When the final putt of the day fell, the Lakers placed 12th among the 15 teams included in the action.
Faring the best for the Lakers were Jake Dittman who fired an 87 (43-44) which put him in 31st place overall while Kevin Bird came into the clubhouse in 38th place with a 91 (47-44).
Rounding out the individual scores for Camdenton were: Joe Watson, 48-48-96 (49th place); Mason Bennett, 48-51-99 (56th place); and Alex Uberroth, 49-54-103 (62nd place).
Claiming first-place individually was Hickman’s Cruz Buchanan who finished with a five-stroke victory coming in with a 36-36-72. Wilson Sundvold (Rock Bridge), Tyler Daly (Hickman), Brandon Straeb (Chaminade) and Tony Simons (Rockhurst) each carded a 77.
Rockbridge won the overall team title with a gross score of 315 followed by Rockhurst (316), Chaminade (321), Hickman (328), Rolla (342), Rock Bridge-2 (352), Helias (353), Jefferson City (354), Rock Bridge-3 (365), Smith-Cotton (369), Mexico (372), Camdenton (373), Southern Boone (381), Kirksville (383), and Hickman-2 (no team score).
The top four of five individual scores counted toward the total team score.
