Tuesday, Dec. 14 was the first day for individuals interested in signing up to run for open seats during the April 5 municipal elections, and Lake Ozark City Clerk Rachel Kelly said it was a record-setting first day signup for her office.
“There were three people waiting to sign up as candidates before the City Hall opened at 8 a.m.,” Kelly said.
This spring, there will be a total of four vacancies — three seats on the Board of Aldermen, as well as the position of mayor — and Kelly said so far it looks like there will be plenty of candidates for voters to choose from.
Listed below are the names of individuals in several Lake Area cities who have signed up as candidates in next spring’s municipal election. The names listed are of those who had registered their candidacy as of noon Tuesday.
