Kaiser woman injured after running light, struck by bus

A Kaiser woman suffered moderate injuries after allegedly failing to stop at traffic light and being struck by a school bus Nov. 30.

According to Osage Beach Police Department, officers responded to a motor-vehicle crash at 3:56 p.m. Nov. 30 on Missouri 42 in front of School of the Osage schools involving a passenger car and a school bus.

Maxine M. Stout, of Kaiser, was traveling west on Missouri 42 in a 2005 Ford Taurus when she allegedly failed to stop for a red traffic signal and was struck broadside by a 2009 International School Bus. Mark R. Elliott Sr. of Eldon was operating the school bus and was crossing Missouri 42 from the Middle School campus to the High School campus at that time.

Thirteen School of the Osage students who were aboard the bus at the time were not injured.

Stout was transported to Lake Regional Hospital by Osage Beach Ambulance with moderate injuries.

The Osage Beach Fire Protection District assisted Osage Beach police and ambulance units during this accident.
